Ameen Sayani started his formal broadcasting career in 1951 with Radio Ceylon. The number of programmes he has compered, and been a part of, would be over 54,000, and the number of jingles over 19,000.
Which programme do you wish you had produced and couldn't ?
Fill us in on any other little-known facets of your life ?
AS: I come from a family that was deeply involved with the freedom movement. I imbibed my education from teachers and real-life heroes who shaped me into an idealist with a touch of practicality, a promoter of fun and goodwill with a sense of responsibility.
